AFLAC

No, this isn't an ad for insurance. After coming across this picture, I found that I just couldn't help myself. But when we think about insurance we sometimes think about sickness, hospital stays etc. This message will be about just that....sickness. Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for loving us so much. Enough to send your Son, Jesus, to die for us. To pay the penalty of our sin and rebellion against You a Holy God. Help us to love You too. With our life. Holy Spirit, please teach Your Word to us today. Your Word is life. Your Word is bread to eat and drink to drink. Give us ears to hear and above all...help us please Sir to be doers of Your Word. In Jesus name (covenant name) AMEN.

In our last episode we talked a little about how to hinder the miracles of God from showing up in our lives, primarily in the area of sickness. We can do that by not believing such things are or will come from Him and we refuse to give Him all the glory. Now lets talk briefly about where does sickness come from.

A few of the reasons are elementary and really don't need a lot of explaining. For instance we live in a fallen world full of sin and under the curse. Secondly we often bring sickness upon ourselves by not eating properly or using common sense in taking care of ourselves responsibly such as lack of sleep, working too hard or putting ourselves in direct contact with illnesses. But these work for all peoples, believers and unbelievers. Believe it or not, we as followers of Christ have even more reasons why sickness come.

In God's Kingdom sickness will come if we violate spiritual laws. The Word says God is not mocked. If we sow to the flesh we will reap destruction. We may also open doors to demonic activity through certain sins such as rebellion. Regardless, God is always in control over the children whom He loves and gave His life for.

Now we as followers of Jesus believe and know that we have been redeemed from the curse that fell upon all of creation because of the first Adam's sin in the garden. We also confess that by His stripes we are healed which means we believe He (Jesus) bore our sickness so we wouldn't have to. We also believe in divine healing. We go through healing lines. We get the elders to anoint us with oil and expect to be healed according to the scriptures. We believe the Word when it says God desires that we be healed and prosper just as our soul prospers. We take communion. We stand and stand and stand upon what we believe sometimes to the point of giving up when year after year goes by without results. Some of us have gone decades and decades with sickness, disease and severe discomfort racking our bodies.

I believe this is one of the most sought out things in the Body. And rightly so because sickness affects our spiritual life. Sometimes it is so hard to pray, read and concentrate when you are sick and in pain. But let me tell you this: I KNOW THAT I KNOW..HEALING AND SALVATION GO HAND IN HAND. With Jesus and the apostles we find this so. So what gives? Has the anointing been lost? NO, BUT IT HAS BEEN HIDDEN.

Many years ago I found myself in my pastor's office discussing this very subject. Why is the Body so sickly? Why do the same brothers and sisters go through the prayer line week after week about the same problems. Where is the gift of healing which was given to the Body of Christ by none other than the Head Himself? The answer came to both of us at the same time. The voice of Master spoke. Not audibly mind you, but His voice nevertheless spoke into our spirit. He said, "You are not walking in the Fear of the Lord." I can tell you that since then I have prayed, studied and read many books on the subject.

In a nutshell this fear of the Lord is the characteristic of a believer who has finally given up and has made Jesus the true Lord of his or her life. It is a life which is surrendered to God...totally. A life which is quick to obey the commands whether they make sense or not. I will touch on this most important subject again a few blogs from now. Watch for it. It will be titled, "OK, I GIVE UP." Meanwhile if you want to read about this subject yourself please pick up a couple of books which really explain it very well. They are Andrew Murray's "Absolute Surrender" and John Bevere's book titled, "The Fear of the Lord."

Trust me, (no, trust the Lord) in the New Testament when there were great outpourings of God's power, anointing and miracle power there were people who were walking as one with Jesus Christ. Be patient and expectful. The grace for all of us (not just a few) to walk in the Fear of the Lord will be conferred upon us soon enough. The devil has stolen long enough. You know what gets me through the times when I have so many questions about why, God, why and when, God, when? The following verse sustains me. It is found in Proverbs 3:5. "TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL YOUR HEART AND LEAN NOT ON YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING." God bless and until next time always remember that God is good. ALL THE TIME.

I BEG YOU...DON'T HINDER THE GLORY OF GOD

Greetings everyone. This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it. I was going to title this blog "How to stop God's hand," but their are some who would consider that impossible and probably blasphemous. With that we better start off with some prayer. Dear Father, we come before You knowing that Your ways are much higher than our ways. Regardless, you do relish in opportunities to reveal Yourself to us. May this be one of them. We trust You but not our own understanding. Open our ears and eyes Holy Spirit so we may know our God more intimately. We Love You...AMEN.

I am sure you have heard it said that as believers we are not to be sick. But some of the teachings on this subject seem to be overbalanced in many respects. If we are sick then our faith is messed up some how. Or how about this one...God does not put or allow sickness on us because He is not a child abuser. We have had mountain moving faith shoved so far down our throats on this subject that many go away disappointed when we are not healed like we have been taught. Please understand me, I most heartily agree that God desires that I be made well and whole. I do believe that I am redeemed from the curse. I do believe in faith healing, anointing with oil and confessions that "by His stripes I am healed." But in reality many (most) believers go through bouts of sickness and the miracle seems few and far between. I myself am so slippery with anointing oil that I can't hardly get my clothes on. My head sporting a bald spot from men of faith laying hands on me but yet my pain and certain diseases remain. Is God not faithful? Is my faith and the faith of some most wonderful faith giants lacking? Is God mad at me? Am I really saved? NO, NO, NO and YES. I WILL NOT try to answer these questions for you. But in this blog AND the next we will explore together some possibilities from the Word of God about this most misunderstood subject.

Have you not considered that Jesus went about and healed ALL who were sick and oppressed of the devil? We find that in Acts 10:38. Wait a minute. I thought that healing was reserved for those born again. Not true. God even says that He rains blessings upon the just and unjust. Lets consider Acts 5:15,16. "As a result, people brought the sick into the streets and laid them on beds and mats so that at least Peter's shadow might fall on some of them as he passed by. Crowds gathered also from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing their sick and those tormented by evil spirits. And ALL of them were healed." In Acts 19:11,12 we find something similar going on, " God did extraordinary miracles through Paul, so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them." I said all of that to say this...faith is demanded to bring about the things of God. But the faith can come from the one who is sick or the one who carries the anointing. For example, the unbelievers who received healing from Jesus in Acts 10 did so on His faith because an unbeliever has no such faith. In just a moment we will find out how to stop that miracle working faith. That wonderful power and mercy of God.
We have discovered that faith is a key element in receiving from God. We have also found that the faith can come from the sick or the one doing the healing through the Hand of God. Why a person is sick will be pondered briefly in the next few blogs. But to further illustrate what stops God's Hand in producing the divine we must ever so slightly touch, why the sickly? Lets read John 9: 1-3,7. "As he went along, He saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked Him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?" "Neither this man nor his parents sinned," said Jesus, "but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life. " "Go," He told him, "wash in the Pool of Siloam." So the man went and washed, and came home seeing." My main point here is that giving God glory and honor for His divine mercy and power seems to be another prerequisite for receiving from Him. Along with faith. Mind you, while we were in these verses, we also discovered that sin does cause sickness. Can we also be so bold to defer that sometimes God allows such things for His glory and for others to come to Him through these miracles? YES we can. More reasons for sickness will be addressed in the next few blogs. Again, in this discourse we are trying to discover reasons God's Hand is held back from doing the miraculous in our midst.
"Then Jesus said, "did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?" So they took away the stone. Then Jesus looked up and said, "Father, I thank you that You have heard me. I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that You sent me." When He said this, Jesus called in aloud voice, "Lazarus, come out!" The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face. Jesus said to them, "Take off the grave clothes and let him go." John 11:40-44. Again we see that believing God for the impossible and giving Him all the honor and glory for His Hand moving on our behalf is required.
But don't take my word for it. Lets let the Word speak for itself in this matter. Matthew 13:58 says, "And He did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith." But as we discovered earlier, Jesus had faith so faith wasn't the whole issue here. His home town people didn't receive Jesus as the Son of God so neglected giving honor where honor was due.
In the days to come know this: God's glory will cover the earth. His anointing, His miracle working power will be everywhere. Don't cheat yourself, family or friends from receiving His divine working by a.) denying this comes from Him and b.) giving Him all the glory.

99 % OBEDIENCE IS WITCHCRAFT

Well howdy do. From the looks of this blog title it appears that we are getting ready to go into some very deep water indeed. Hope you can swim. With that said lets go now to the One who is able and willing to save us from everything and everybody...including ourselves. "Holy God, thank You for loving us so much. For taking our place where judgement of sin is concerned. You purchased us too. Now that surely means that we have great value in Your eyes. It is Your choice to love us and we are so, so eternally grateful. We love You too. We need You. We want You. In our dear Lord Jesus name we pray...AMEN."

What in the world have we gotten ourselves into now? We will get back to that in just a minute. Let me introduce you to one of the many churches we are so privileged to be a part of. One which I have grown with for the past 25 years. One which we belong to regardless of where we live. Of course their are many bodies of believers worldwide which are one with God and His will for the times in which we live, but this church is so dear to my heart. The name is New Covenant Church in Valdosta Ga. http://www.nccvaldosta.org/. Check it out sometime.

My most beloved wife (Joan) and myself listen to NCC messages on a weekly and almost daily basis. Many visions and prophecies have come across that pulpit in the past few decades. Two stick with me and I want to share them with you. I promise this message will all tie together real nice in a moment. Listen will you? A certain prophetess delivered this first vision a few years back. It goes something like this. But first, oh Holy Spirit please help me to deliver these visions correctly and with Your anointing. AMEN.

There was a giant lion laying in front of this sister. Huge, about the size of a two story building. The lion (remember Jesus is called the lion of the tribe of Judah) turned his massive head ever so slowly and spoke. The words sounded like the thunder of many waters. The lion said "YOU OUGHT TO GET TO KNOW ME." Now if that doesn't bring tears to your eyes I don't know what will.

The second vision was more recent. Given by a very dear brother of mine. A most wonderful spiritual leader of the NCC body. The vision was one of Jesus. He was just a dancing. A real high stepping dance at that. He was grinning from ear to ear. He said "ISN'T OBEDIENCE FUN !" And after that He said "WE ARE GETTING READY TO TAKE AN ADVENTURE TOGETHER." And I agree with my dear brother, what in the world would Jesus consider an adventure? It must be something most wonderful indeed. I am sure it will require great FAITH.

God is Love. I could probably blog those words alone and expect them to preach for years to come. What a powerful statement. May I please follow out that rabbit trail? Thanks. 1 John 4:15-21 "If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in him and he in God. And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. GOD IS LOVE. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because in this world we are like him. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. the one who fears is not made perfect in love."

"We love because He first loved us. If anyone says, "I love God,"yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has not seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen. And He has given us this command: whoever loves God must also love his brother."

Thanks for indulging me, that text was just too rich to pass up.

Now God has no trouble loving because that is who He is. His love for us was shown most dramatically when He came down from His lofty throne and humbled Himself as a man. Walked among us. Taught us. And gave Himself unto death for us on that most torturous of all deaths..the cross. Paying the penalty for our sins. Went to hell so we wouldn't have to. Rose again on the third day so we would have hope in eternal life and not fear deaths sting. Sitting on the right hand of the Father interceding on our behalf. Coming for us (His love) again any minute now. God's love is covenant love. If He said it then He means it. Our love for Him is something akin to the Son's love for the Father. The Father's love just is. But the Son's love (the kind we walk in toward the Father) is a choice to OBEY. Yes, we cannot get away from that most beautiful hymn. "TRUST AND OBEY, FOR THERE IS NO OTHER WAY, TO BE HAPPY IN JESUS BUT TO TRUST AND OBEY." 1 John 5: 3 says "This is love for God: to obey His commands."

How in the world are we going to tie all this together? Check this out. Let's GET TO KNOW THE LION OF JUDAH. Spend time with this most wonderful God who loves us. Then, Lets obey Him. He requires it. He demands it. Surely we can trust our God whom we know and have spent time with. His commands are not for our harm but for our good. Faith (TRUST AND OBEY) will bring us great joy. Even make us do a little jig. Like Jesus said, ISN'T OBEDIENCE FUN ! And take it from Him, we are about to take an adventure that will require every bit of faith we have.

Unfortunately we also have to consider the ramifications of being disobedient. A little leaven leavens the whole loaf. Can we keep one percent of rebellion inside us against the Living God and expect to live and reign with Him? Lucifer was the most beautiful of angels. The leader of music and worship before he fell. One percent pride, rebellion and self exaltation did that. If God did not spare the angels who sinned in the first rebellion, do you think He will spare us who spit upon His most Holy Son? 1 Samuel 15:23, "For rebellion (disobedience) is like the sin of witchcraft, and iniquity like the evil of idolatry (saying our way is better)." God have mercy on us all.

DONT GIVE UP YOU WILL REAP A HARVEST

Hey everybody. No, I didn't forget about you or the things of the Lord. But the past few days have been those of introspection and hearing from the Lord Jesus. Lets talk to Him now shall we...Wonderful God, Savior and friend, we come to You with praise on our lips for You are awesome. We come to You because we are thirsty and hungry. We come to the Word made flesh..Jesus. In Him we shall not thirst again, in Him we shall not go hungry. Jesus is our Living Water and Bread of Life. We come now to partake. Give us ears to hear. In Jesus Name AMEN.

Galatians 6:9-10 says this: "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers." What led me to bring this verse before you and I today? Because I have been wrestling with God to make sure pride and vainglory about this blog site has been rooted out. Not that I felt any such thing (although we all have some in us somewhere) but I wanted to know. It's so important to me that this site be from God and not from any hidden motive on my behalf.

Why did this subject even come up? Well, I have felt a little discouraged that no one has commented on this site since its beginning. I don't think it is wrong to desire some feedback from such endeavors. Even pastors feel such desire at times I am sure. So, I looked at that attitude to make sure it was not over balanced one way or the other. Then I wondered if anyone was even looking at this site. I said "Lord, am I wasting my time?" "Is this really Your will for me after all?"

Jesus says to you and I: "As our love continues to grow in Him during these last days, our desire to do good will increase. The harvest will seem slow, ever so slow in coming because the god of this world knows his time is short. But the reaper is about to overtake the sower.(Amos9:13) Don't give up, the Lord of Glory is coming and with Him all good things."

What do we mean when we talk about harvest? First let me tell you what we DON'T mean. You have heard it taught that the Kingdom of God is based on seed time and harvest. This teaching is true according to the context used in scriptures. But some have taught certain things which I consider overbalanced. Such as if you sow a car you will get a car. If you sow ten dollars in their ministry you will reap a thousand. The list goes on. You get my drift.

First, we SHOULDN'T sow with the sole intention of getting something back. Do we know that we will? SURE ! But we don't base our doing good on such thoughts. And we surely don't give in order to gain God's favor or attention. We are unable to do that because our righteousness is as filthy rags to Him. Jesus gained His attention on our behalf.

No, we sow good because that is what love does. We sow to honor Jesus and bring glory to the Father. We do good because we have compassion.
So I write with the above intentions. God says to keep on doing good and we WILL (He is not a God that lies) reap a harvest. What kind of harvest. Well, that I do not know. Suffice to say it will be good. And it will come. I write because of the gifting in me. I write because my earnest desire is to represent the Father and His thoughts to others knowing that the Word is alive and able to operate on its own if we can just get it out there. I also know that the light of the Father which is in us in Christ Jesus will shine on its own if we can just get it out there.

In closing, If you preach then preach. If you give financially then give. If you encourage then encourage. If you have mercy then have mercy. If you pray then pray. If you intercede for the lost then intercede. If you feed the poor then feed. If you clothe the naked then clothe. If you evangelize then evangelize. If you prophesy then prophesy. If you love and befriend then love. If you help then help. If you bear burdens with and for others then bear. If you take time for others then sacrifice. If you have wisdom then give it.

IT IS NOT WHAT WE HAVE IN THE BARN THAT BRINGS FRUIT BUT WHAT WE SOW. Good night all. God Bless !!

DOES GOD REALLY KNOW EVERYTHING? (personal journal entry 11/20/2004)

Sort of. Boy, some of you might think I am on the edge of blasphemy so we better pray right away. Wonderful Jesus, we come humbly before You with understanding that You are full of wisdom and our puny minds can not ever compare to Yours...even in the least. But we also understand that You delight in revealing to us more about who You are. Your character. Your nature. Please guide our thoughts now as we come together with You to talk about one of many great mysteries hidden in You. In Jesus name...AMEN.

Have you ever been so upset with yourself? With your conduct? Maybe even to the point of loathing yourself because of a blatant sin against God? I have, and many times over. Not so much now because the Holy Spirit has taught me much about God's character over the past few decades. I have also learned much about God through His merciful dealings with me and through spending time with Him. Just hanging out.

During those times I can vividly remember asking God to kill me because it was evident I was not born again. How could I be? My actions had been so wicked indeed. I was fully convinced that I was doomed to hell and wanted to go there immediately, mostly to spare others more harm from my unChristlike behavior. Then I would begin to get real mad at God because I believed that if He knows everything then He would know I was doomed to hell so WHY CREATE ME?

Have you ever had such thoughts? I know some of you have. Again, why does God allow people to be born if He knows they will go to Hell? He knows everything doesn't He? Again...sort of. HE DECIDES NOT TO SEE.

Why am I believing such things? First of all, thank you Holy Spirit for wisdom..but do not let me be deceived. I believe all wisdom comes from You and, if I let it, I will go away with greater knowledge of God's love and character. That is what I am after...NOT to blow my own smartness horn. Heavens no.

Anyway, God searched Saul's heart and saw he loved Him, was righteous and would make a good King over Israel (their first King). He turned wicked and God said He REGRETTED making Saul King. First of all regret means that a mistake had been made. But it wasn't on God's part. God said He had thoughts for Saul's throne to be established forever.

I believe God sets good plans for everyone and His thoughts are continually established toward their success. If He opened His eyes and saw the final outcome, His very thoughts of the view would bring that into being. God's thoughts are continually good and hopeful for our blessed outcome. It is I who determines to walk in it or not.

Maybe some day someone will read this who has similar struggles as I. Well, Hallelujah, because maybe I can shorten your period of self loathing, pain and anger against God. Here it is....Such thoughts are Not from God. Neither are they from you. Now who stands to gain here? Is it not lucifer himself? He(he) is the condemner and father of lies. Try this, get on your knees and ask God to forgive you of your sins and the rebellious talk against Him. Do It, what do you have to lose? Can you feel it? The heaviness of your burden has left you !! God created you to be with Him forever. He died in your place to make that happen, if you would but believe. Now get up and rejoice. Your name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life and the devil has lost another one. Until next time...Kenny G.

I AM SO SORRY IF I OFFENDED YOU(personal journal 10/04/2004)

Howdy, howdy! Lets go to the throne: Wonderful Lord, how beautiful You are. How holy, just, forgiving, merciful and wise. You bought us and made us Your own. Thank you Daddy. Thank you so, so much. Give us ears to hear Your living Word. Help us to obey Your Word. We want to please You. We love You....We need You...We want You...AMEN

Sometimes I encounter situations where someone does wrong towards me but turns it around like I have done wrong. I have in all cases reflected on myself first for any error. Many times I have found that I have done wrong. So in those cases Oh God have mercy on me and dear sir or ma'am, I am so sorry. Occasionally I also find myself getting offended when someone hurts me. That too is wrong. Oh God, please bring me up higher in love so I will not even consider or pay attention to a suffered wrong.

In many cases I also find that when I have NOT erred I still find guilt within me. After inspection I find I have not sinned against man or God..so why the guilt?

I HAVE PRIDE. I have pride in me because I am worried that others may have seen me as less than perfect. Oh God deliver me from such and hidden attitude that marches to the tune of 'worried about offending others' because I want to look perfect in their eyes. Even when I know I haven't sinned, their condemnation of me bothers me because I want others to think good about me.

Guilt leave me in Jesus name. Kenny G., be a God pleaser and stop worrying about what others think when you know you spoke or acted as Jesus. REMEMBER, Jesus spoke what the Father spoke. He did what He saw the Father do and people still got offended and spoke wickedly of Him.

Well folks, that's about it for right now. God Bless You !!
